Aotea Utanganui provides advice for community groups on managing and caring for their archives, records, photographs, audio/visual recordings and taonga collections.

Our work above with Wai-o-Turi Marae where we designed and ran participatory photo & archive preservation sessions are of particular note.  We have run these sessions with the blessing of iwi to preserve their taonga, and more importantly, to empower them with the techniques to complete this work themselves.

We’re passionate about working with organisations that put the preservation of heritage at the heart of their kaupapa.  With our skills, drive, and passion, together we can empower our communities to change lives.  These workshops can be held at the Museum, workplaces of local marae.  To book your workshop today contact 0800 111 323 or museum@stdc.govt.nz
