Conservation Week 10-18 September 2016
Join us at Aotea Utanganui for Conservation Week 2016!
Studies show children who are connected to nature will want to enjoy it and save it, now and in the future. Spending time in nature also improves physical and mental health and wellbeing – it’s all about Healthy Nature Healthy People. Get your kids into nature this Conservation Week and experience it for yourself. The overarching theme for Conservation Week is ‘Healthy Nature Healthy People’. It encourages people to become aware of the link between a healthy natural environment and their own health. In 2016 the tagline is ‘Join the team!’. We all benefit from conservation, so we all must play a part in protecting our future.
At Aotea Utanganui for Conservation Week you can become a bird (or a Weta) for a day! Learn more about New Zealand’s special animals and create your very own face mask.
