Blender

2007.016.1

ARTEFACT OF THE WEEK:  Today’s artefact depicts a Gullicansen Blendor-Mix.  Stephen Poplawski is credited with inventing the blender in 1922.  Poplawski was the first to put spinning blades at the bottom of a container.  In 1932, Poplawski, received patents for a machine that would reduce fruits and vegetables to a liquid. They have become an indispensible way to process food and drinks in today’s world.  If you know more information about this artefact that would be useful for our catalogue, contact the museum on 0800 111 323 or museum@stdc.govt.nz, Aotea Utanganui Museum of South Taranaki Heritage Collection, with reference to:  2007.016.1.
