This is a motion-film projector, Model 18. This projector was originally used in the Civic Theatre in the Pātea Town Hall. The GK18 projector mechanism was made by the Kershaw Company in Leeds and an improved version of the GK40, a machine that was produced for the Indian market during WWII years at low cost and in a cheap crinkle/crackle finish.
