Photo of the week: Lord Islington
Today’s photograph is of a civic reception in honour of John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, known as Lord Islington (born John Poynder Dickson) who was Governor of New Zealand between 1910 and 1912. On this visit to Hawera on the 5th of July 1911, Lord Islington was greeted at the Hawera Borough Chambers by newly re-elected Mayor Mr E. Barton and other officials.
