Scott and Shackleton at AWMM

The Auckland War Memorial Museum has a fabulous new exhibition opening in August – Still Life: inside the Antarctic huts of Scott and Shackleton. Their website says “Step ‘inside’ the historic huts of Antarctic explorers Captain Robert Falcon Scott and Sir Ernest Shackleton in an immersive audiovisual experience*, created by renowned New Zealand photographer Jane Ussher and the Antarctic Heritage Trust.

Encounter incredible Antarctic objects from the Museum’s collections and find out what it was like to live, work and play in the earth’s southern-most continent. Relive a time of extraordinary polar exploration and, through our exhibition partner the Antarctic Heritage Trust, discover what’s happening to conserve this heritage on the ice today.” If you are heading to Auckland this should be well worth a look.
