In 2014 we are offering a new education programme; shipwreck stories.
Through desperate tales of tragedy and misadventure some key stories of South Taranaki come alive. Between the Harriet wreck in 1834 and the SS Waitangi in 1923 students will learn about Taranaki maritime history and its importance to the settlement of the land.
This programme can be combined with a fieldtrip to the wreck of the SS Waitangi on Pātea beach. For information about the programme contact Education and Events Officer Rob Groat at email@example.com or phone the Museum on 0800 111 323.
