Collage crafts at the Museum
Fifteen people took part in the Collage Crafts day at Aotea Utanganui on Monday 23 December. Collage sessions are a great way of introducing people to the range of materials held in the Archives, starting conversations about how our everyday lives have changed, and discussing the ways in which advertising portrayed daily life and people’s domestic roles.
Events and Education Officer Rob Groat supplied a range of materials for people to work with, and everyone enjoyed the time out from the Christmas rush, with two girls staying for a couple of hours and making three cards each. Here are some of the collaged artworks made by the children:
