Not everything needs batteries
During the October school holidays Education and Events Officer Rob Groat showed local children, and quite a few adults, a wide selection of pre-battery toys. Everyone was fascinated and it was a good opportunity for the younger ones to explore difference mechanisms for creating movement.
The children made balloon-powered cars and other simple toys, and were keen to take their creations home and continue experimenting with them.
