We’re excited to announce that our photographic collection is, slowly but surely, being added online at the NZMuseums website using eHive software. You can find us here. We’re scanning our photos and adding as much information as we can, so people from around the world can enjoy what we have here. The scans are only fairly small, so that people don’t breach copyright; anyone wanting a copy can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to purchase a good print.
Having our photos online means people doing family research are more likely to find us and can make contact to see what we can offer them in the way of research assistance. We have a wealth of information in our archives, and District Archivist Cameron Curd can provide assistance by appointment.
Here’s just one of the photos we’ve uploaded this morning. This is a 1909 view down the main street of Patea.
